This Week in the Library: Using Destiny (our online library catalog)
Students will review how to find titles on our online catalog, as well as how to use many other features on Destiny Quest.
Once we have reviewed how to use the library we will begin our first cross-curriculum projects.
FOURTH GRADE PROJECT:
Students will use their library skills to research a planet in conjunction with the classroom unit on the solar system. Once students have gathered information from books and UDLibSearch databases they will be ready to create a glog on Glogster.com to present to their classmates.
FIFTH GRADE PROJECT:
Students in fifth grade will use their library skills to research a state in the United States to compliment their classroom unit on geography. Once students have gathered information from books and UDLibSearch databases they will be ready to create a glog about their state to present to their classmates.
Librarians and Tech Teachers have a lot in common...and LOVE to work together. Vote for some of your favorite ideas of how Mrs. Delgado, Mrs. Beck, and your classroom teacher can work together to create fun assignments.
